Michael Lee Aday (born Marvin Lee better known as Meat Loaf died last night ,Thursday January 20. He was an American singing Legend and actor. He was known for his powerful, wide-ranging voice and theatrical live shows. His Bat Out of Hell trilogy—Bat Out of Hell, Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell, and Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose—has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide. More than four decades after its release, the first album still sells an estimated 200,000 copies annually and stayed on the charts for over nine years, making it one of the best-selling albums in history.[
His amazing career spanned 6 decades that saw him sell over 100 Million albums worldwide and star in over 65 movies, including “Fight Club”, “Focus”, “Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Wayne’s World.”
My favourite song on the first Bat out of Hell album is the epic rock anthem “Paradise by the Dashboard light” It is basically a song pf a couple having or attempting to have sex in a car, it could have been done within a minute but the album version lasts for 8.28 minutes.
Jim Steinman, the composer and writer of the song, had stated that he wanted to write “the ultimate car/sex song in which everything goes horribly wrong in the end.”
The song is a duet with Ellen Foley, however it is Karla DeVito who is in the video with Meat Loaf, Karla also went on tour with Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf where she performed the song live.
Ending this tribute to the legend that was Meat Loaf with another duet he did.
