Most of Them—Maybe All of Them—Murdered

History of Sorts

These are students and teachers of the Jewish Lyceum in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, July 1942.More then 75% of the Dutch Jews were murdered during the Holocaust.

There are about 60 or so people in that picture, all of them or most of them would have been murdered. Most of them young people. Girls who never again received a Valentine’s card. Boys who never again send a Valentine’s card.

Teachers who never taught again, Students who never learned again. Potential never fulfilled.

Just think back at your own school days for a minute and then try to imagine you class room emptying more and more as each day passes.
