Elvis-How great thou art

Elvis Presley won a Grammy Award for Best Inspirational Performance on March 1, 1975 for his live version of How Great Thou Art, which was recorded in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1974 and featured on his live album Elvis Recorded Live on Stage in Memphis.

This was Elvis’ second Grammy win related to How Great Thou Art. He originally won Best Sacred Performance in 1968 for the studio version of the song from his 1967 gospel album of the same name.

Despite being one of the best-selling artists of all time, Elvis only won three competitive Grammy Awards in his career, all in gospel categories:

1968 – Best Sacred Performance (How Great Thou Art – studio version)
1972 – Best Inspirational Performance (He Touched Me)
1975 – Best Inspirational Performance (How Great Thou Art – live version)
His powerful performance of How Great Thou Art became one of his signature gospel songs and was a staple in his later concerts.
