History of Sorts

These are three interviews I have conducted over the last year. All three people have a link to the October 7 attacks in one way or another.

Tal Hartuv- who barely survived a Hamas attack in 2010 and saw one of her friends being hacked to death. The October 7 attack by Hamas brought all these memories back to her

Aziz Abu Sarah- His brother died in 1990 from injuries sustained by the Israeli Defense Force(IDF). After the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023, he reached out to Maoz Inon, whose parents were murdered by Hamas. They became close friends and advocates for peace.

Rosa DeVries- is an Israeli Jewish woman, originally from Amsterdam and a daughter of Holocaust survivors. She lives in Rishon LeZion in Israel, located along the central Israeli coastal plain eight kilometres (5 mi) south of Tel Aviv and about 55 km away from Gaza. Her son is serving in the IDF.

Finishing up, I came across the photo below of unclaimed items left on the festival grounds that were collected and displayed as part of the 06:29 performance.

I couldn’t help but think that “Never Again” was not achieved.
