Inspired by the original by Green Day, rewritten in reflection of the October 7 attacks and the anti Semitism that followed

Love’s gone, the sky went black
The hate that started long ago is back
I hear the silence in the air
Speak up no one dares

Like shattered hearts that won’t repair
We count the names, we say the prayers
The world moved on, or so it seems
Now we’re caught inside the hateful screams

Wake me up when October ends

The echoes won’t release their hold
Too many stories left untold
A photograph, a quiet room
A child’s laugh lost far too soon

This isn’t how the world should be
We hold to love, but desperately
The days just blur from shock and pain
Hate is prevalent, it is just insane.

Wake me up when October ends

Ringing through the halls of time
The questions fall with no reply
And though we break, we still remain
Carrying the names, the flame

Love’s gone, but not the hate
The nights are long, the survivors carry a weight.
If peace could ever find its way
We’d trade the past for one more day

Wake me up when October ends

Wake me up when October ends

The picture is of Kim Danti, an Irish girl murdered on October 7, 2023. Forgotten by her government.

“Mummy, what should I do?” her last words , before she was murdered by Hamas terrorists, not militants, terrorists.

She was only one of many

  1. Won’t be long till the 3rd anniversary. Unbelievable. All the nations that have not supported Israel following this horrific attack should hang their heads in shame… 😞
