Propaganda played a powerful role in shaping public opinion during the turbulent years of 1933 to 1945. In an era marked by intense political conflict and war, governments, especially the Nazi regime, used propaganda as a weapon to manipulate citizens, instill loyalty, and control narratives. This period saw the rise of sophisticated mass communication tactics, with visual posters, radio broadcasts, and public speeches carefully crafted to stir emotions and direct societal views. This blog delves into the strategies, themes, and impact of propaganda during this time, exploring how it molded public perception and fueled the era’s political agendas.

“Choose Hitler! The leader out of misery and need!”
This poster comes from the 1932 presidential elections, but I am not sure which round. The caption on top, in pseudo-Hebraic lettering, translates as: “We are voting for Hindenburg!” The pictures are of a variety of Jewish socialists and communists, sex researchers, etc. The caption beneath: “Look at these faces and you’ll know where you belong!”1
