1.5 Million Tears

In memory of the 1.5 million children murdered during the Holocaust

1.5 million tears, silent and small,
Each one is a child, with dreams to recall.
Eyes once bright with wonder and play,
Dimmed by the darkness that stole them away.

Tiny shoes, now empty and still,
Echo in halls where whispers chill.
Toys abandoned, songs unsung,
A generation silenced, so young.

Names forgotten, but not their worth,
Their laughter once filled the corners of Earth.
Little hands that reached for the skies,
Shattered by hatred, lost to lies.

Stars on their sleeves, marked and betrayed,
By a world where compassion and justice have decayed.
No bedtime stories, no futures to see,
Just endless shadows where light should be.

Yet in the ash, a flame endures,
A testament strong, resilient, and pure.
For each tear shed, we vow to remember,
Their innocence glowing, an eternal ember.

1.5 million tears, a flood of grief,
Yet, in their memory, we seek belief—
That love will rise, and hate will cease,
And their lost dreams bloom in fields of peace.
